The Challenge

This project involved a Grade I listed 13th-century building undergoing a major restoration.

The solution needed to respect the building’s historic character while supporting its future use as a public space.

Curtains had to complement original architectural features, including stained glass and Victorian detailing, without appearing intrusive.

Performance was also a factor. The system needed to provide insulation and acoustic control within large heritage spaces.

Material selection introduced additional complexity, with environmental conditions increasing the risk of fabric degradation over time.

System Design

Ten pairs of bespoke curtains were installed across key areas of the building.

Patinated bronze tracks were specified to align with the historic interior and architectural detailing.

Integration

The system was designed to sit naturally within the heritage environment.
